Remembering a film through the browser.
An ongoing personal cinema archive that turns my love of Interstellar and Arrival into distinct experiences through writing, typography, images, sound and scroll.
What moved the work forward.
One collection, two forms
The collection connects two film-specific journeys. Interstellar follows distance, time and a promise kept; Arrival explores language, memory and choosing a life. Each has its own compositions and pacing, with a shared route back to the archive.
A content-led direction
I guide the writing, visual direction and interaction through iterative AI-assisted development. The current direction favors more scenes, ideas and emotional context. I removed an experiment that measured visitor time and persisted completion because it distracted from the films themselves.
Motion with restraint
The current experiences use HTML, CSS and JavaScript, without a Three.js renderer. Scroll updates run when needed, later images load lazily, and reduced motion removes pinned sequences. Visitors choose sound once at the collection entrance, with playback controls available inside the film.
Work in progress
Both film experiences run locally; the archive has not been publicly deployed. This is an independent fan project. My contribution is the web interpretation and interface; the films, stills and music remain the work of their original creators and rights holders.
Scenes from both film journeys, from opening frames to scroll-driven moments.
